چکیده

Abstract Objective To estimate the prevalence of hand-arm vibration (HAV) in Australian workplaces. Methods The Workplace Exposure Survey (AWES)—Hearing was a cross-sectional telephone survey workers conducted 2016–2017. Respondents were asked about time spent using tools or performing tasks known to be associated with HAV during their most recent working day. We created library magnitude levels for each tool/task and estimated worker’s daily exposure level standard formulae. categorized worker as whether they exceeded occupational limits 2.5 5.0 m/s2. Results extrapolated population raked weighting method. In our sample 4991 workers, 5.4% men 0.7% women action limit m/s2 on that 3.8% workforce exceeds 0.8% 5 limit. Men more likely exceed than women, those trade qualifications, who worked remote locations. Workers construction, farming, automobile industries had highest exposure. Tool groups contributed higher included: compactors, rollers, tampers; power hammers jackhammers; underground mining equipment. Conclusions is common population. Given health risks this exposure, reduction strategies interventions should developed, engineering controls starting point strategies.

Hand-arm vibration exposure and the development of vibration syndrome.

To evaluate the circulatory disturbances, sensory disturbances and damage to muscles and joints by chain saw vibration exposure, the process of the deterioration of the symptoms with chain saw operating time was studied. Subjects were classified into eight groups according to TOT (Total Operating Time): Group 0, 46 controls; Group A, 39 operators (< 2,000 hours); Group B, 53 operators (2,000-4,...

Exposure assessment in health assessments for hand-arm vibration syndrome.

BACKGROUND Assessing past cumulative vibration exposure is part of assessing the risk of hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS) in workers exposed to hand-arm vibration and invariably forms part of a medical assessment of such workers. AIMS To investigate the strength of relationships between the presence and severity of HAVS and different cumulative exposure metrics obtained from a self-reportin...

Hand-arm vibration syndrome.

The hand-arm vibration syndrome affects workers who perform tasks that generate vibration. Raynaud's phenomenon and sensory impairment of the fingers are the predominant effects. A history of hand-arm vibration (HAV) exposure in a patient with these symptoms should alert the physician to the diagnosis. Referral to a special clinic or hospital department for multiple clinical tests is required t...
